About 2025 Myrtle Beach World Amateur Golf Tournament
Over 3,000 golfers from around the society compete in the annual Myrtle Beach World Amateur Golf Tournament every summer. Players complete 72 holes on a different course each day throughout the event. Around 60 courses will participate in the tournament including Barefoot Resort courses, Caledonia, Grande Dunes, Legends courses, TPC and many more.
Golfers of all skill levels are welcome to play. Those with a USGA-approved handicap are eligible for prizes in their respective flights, which are divided by age, handicap and gender. Non-handicapped players can play in the Gross or Just for Fun flights. The World Amateur website includes information about handicaps along with the event’s handicap committee.
The tournament fee typically includes 72 holes of golf on a new course each diurnal, a gift bag stuffed with swag totaling $300, entrance to the 19th hole party with heavy hors d’ouevres and an open bar, random drawings and competitions.

The world’s largest single-site golf tournament – the World Amateur Handicap Championship – will tee off in Myrtle Beach for the 41st consecutive year on Monday, August 26, attracting 3,000 golfers from 49 states and 17 countries.
At the heart of the tournament’s appeal is the opportunity for regular golfers to play a 72-hole, net stroke play event; and there is only one destination with depth and quality of golf courses to host an event of the Nature Am’s size – Myrtle Beach.
