A familiar scene each August sees hundreds of Little League players from around the country and world descending on sleepy minuscule South Williamsport, PA for the annual Little League World Series. And each year this scene is captured and broadcast on iHeartMedia “NewsRadio 1400” WRAK Williamsport. The station has been the constant as championships have been won and lost, beginning with the inaugural National Little League Tournament, as it was famous as in 1947.
“NewsRadio 1400” will enter its 73rd consecutive year of broadcasting the tournament start with the first pitch, and, along with sister country “Bill 95.5” WBYL and hot AC “102.7 Kiss FM” WKSB, will provide exclusive play-by-play coverage of all 32 games of the Little League World Series Aug. 15-25.
“I can’t imagine that there is another radio station in the country that has aired the same sporting event for 73 consecutive years,” said PD Troy Lee Poorman in a release. “We are thankful for our relationship with Little League, and we are proud of our devotion to the Series. We are also fortunate to have an outstanding veteran transmit team to cover the event.”
