God Stories

Giving Orokia a Better Life

Orokia Kabore is from Burkina Faso. Her father died when she was very young, forcing her mother to move the family in with her uncle in 2018. Orokia’s mother died later that same year. Orokia was devastated. Her uncle decided to offer Orokia in marriage to a much older man. Orokia was only 15. She was traumatized after losing her parents and being forced into marriage with a much older guy. One of her aunts went to the local pastor and shared Orokia’s story. The pastor partners with CWO’s Village of Opportunity shared Orokia’s story with Alassane and Dina. They made a plan to recruit Orokia to the VOO and now she is a confident, exceptional VOO student. Praise God for how he gave Orokia a better life!

#691: Lions & Lambs — A Triumphal Procession

There are two lions stalking the earth with opposite objectives, but they don’t have equivalent power. Jesus has won total, complete, eternal, irreversible victory over Satan and the kingdom of darkness. The Lion of Judah has triumphed! In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson discusses the spiritual conflict raging in the earth and how we can stand firm against the antagonist by staying close to the Lion of Judah. We are not powerless or called to be spectators in this clash. We are invited to participate the triumphal procession God has planned. Pastor Allen explains that the key to resisting the enemy and spending time in the presence of the Lion of Judah is praise, worship, and yielding our whole person to Jesus Christ—our strength, our intellect, our resources, our calendar, and our priorities. When we worship, it reframes our interpretation of ourselves and God, strengthening us to stand immovable and triumphant in our faith—even when we’re confronted with the roar of the lion.
